Joel Madden is no longer Hilary Duff's most wanted. And vice versa.
The Good Charlotte rocker and the singer-actor went their separate ways earlier this month, a rep for Madden confirmed to E! News.
"I can confirm they are split, but other than that, we do not wish to talk about Joel's personal life," the rep said.However, Madden apparently has no such hang-ups when it comes to discussing his personal life.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the tattooed musician opened up about the breakup during a deejay appearance at Chicago's Enclave nightclub last week, telling clubgoers that he and Duff parted ways due to problems caused by their eight-year age difference. (Madden is 27, Duff is 19.)
Madden reportedly said it was Duff who did the dumping, putting an end to their relationship of more than two years. The duo only went public with their romance last year, after the Lizzie McGuire star came of age.
"I've found the perfect person," Madden told People last month. "She's confident, she accepts me for my imperfections, and she is good to me. I never have to question if she's going to be there, because I know she will be."The times, they are a-changin'.
In addition to dating, the twosome also carried on a professional relationship, with Madden producing three tracks on Duff's greatest hits album, 2005's Most Wanted.
Of late, Madden and Duff have also been entwined in a legal battle against an alleged stalker. The duo obtained restraining orders against a Russian teen last month, stating they feared for their lives. The man was arrested earlier this month after he allegedly threatened to kill Duff, a charge he has denied.
Both Duff and Madden have new albums in the works. Duff's latest is due in February, while Good Charlotte's Good Morning Revival is scheduled for a Mar. 20 release.

The Sugababes Heidi Range has revealed the girls felt let down when former bandmate Mutya Buena left the band without warning in December last year for “purely personal reasons” but Heidi has now said she felt that Mutya just disappeared: “She was just gone and never phoned to explain. I felt betrayed.” Amelle Berrabah replaced Mutya in the trio.
Mutya was actually at CD:UK at Amelle's first apperance there, Heidi said she felt uncomfortable about it though because Mutya has never spoken to her since leaving.

The newly reunited ‘girl’ band All Saints have once again gotten their claws out for fellow pop band Girls Aloud. The ever gobby Cheryl Cole recently slammed All Saints, saying that their new single ‘Rock Steady’ sounded just like her band…as if. All Saints hit back saying they really didn’t care what Mrs Cole thought of them, but they are unable to let the matter rest and hope that the maturity of their tunes will have Girls Aloud quaking in their boots.
Shaznay Lewis from the band said of their music: "We say what we want. As long as we stand true and say what we really believe, it's fine. I stand by it and I mean it.
If you say things about people for any other reason you have to be careful because you will bump into them. So you'd better mean what you say. We are four feisty women with a lot of attitude. We're confident because we're older now.
People forget they're not talking Girls Aloud or Sugababes - we're 30-odd-year-old women so we aren't dizzy anymore. It's not cockiness, it's maturity. The industry is so false and we know that but when you're younger you think it's the be all and end all."
However, Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding refuses to believe there is a problem at all, she said: "It's all bollocks. It was taken out of proportion, twisted and they retaliated.
"I actually had a drink with Natalie Appleton and Liam Gallagher the other week as we have a mutual friend - everything is fine, honestly."

Atlantic has also given Tweet a second chance after screwing up promotion for It's Me Again.
2006 sees Tweet recording her 3rd album, which will feature a collaboration with Whitney Houston ("Another Day"), and in-turn Tweet will feature on Whitney Houston's next album, and will feature production by Timbaland, Dre & Vidal, Missy Elliott, Walter Milsap III, Warryn Campbell (who produced Elliott's "Teary Eyed"). Tweet is also slated to record tracks with Kanye West and quite possibly Rich Harrison. Tweet should wrap up studio recording sessions around fall. Tweet has also written two songs for Monica's new album The Makings of Me, only one of these "Gotta Move On" appeared on the album. She has also written songs for Fantasia's sophomore album.
Tweet has supposebly left Atlantic and quite possibly Elliott's The Goldmind, Inc. as well and has signed with Jeryl Busby and Mike City's new record label Umbrella Recordings, whose acts include Patti LaBelle, Carl Thomas and a few other well-known R&B chart climbers. This could mean good things for the future of Tweet.

The 25-year-old was touched by Simpson's words and insists women in the music industry need to be supportive of one another. She explains, "Recently, I was staying at a hotel when I got a letter from Jessica Simpson, who was in the penthouse across the hall. It was super complimentary. The diminutive pop princess - who has beaten breast cancer, after being diagnosed with the illness in May 2005 - was due to join the Irish rockers on stage yesterday (13.11.06) as a thank you for frontman Bono performing a duet with her on the second night of her resumed 'Showgirl Homecoming' tour in Sydney on Sunday (12.11.06). However, Kylie - who is still not fully fit following an intensive programme of chemotherapy - had underestimated just how physically demanding the two-and-a-half-hour performances would be and was forced to grudgingly cancel her appearance. A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Kylie called Bono to explain that she had worn herself out. She is really feeling the physical effects of her return to the stage. "He told her to spend Monday resting, get her energy levels fully restored and relax. "It wasn't a problem at all. Everyone realises Kylie is putting herself through the mill for the tour." Kylie's tour has changed significantly from last year's postponed shows in order to accommodate the singer's reduced fitness levels and limit her stress.Before her first show on Saturday (11.11.06), she said: "I'm as prepared as I can be but I'm not sure that I'll be able to do everything that I did before."

Britney Spears has been hard at work on her first original album since 2003's In the Zone, spending hours at the Sony Music recording studio in New York City. After spending Thursday night in the studio, Spears took a break before heading back Friday and working until the early morning hours.
She'll have some famous help with her new disc: At a Louis Vuitton party in New York City on Thursday night, producer Pharrell Williams told PEOPLE he's on board.
Asked about upcoming projects, he said, "The stuff I'm about to do is amazing, but I don't like talking about what I'm about to do." He paused, then said, "Okay, I'm going in with Britney."
Spears, who filed for divorce from Kevin Federline on Tuesday, has been in New York since last week. On Monday, she made a surprise visit to the Late Show with David Letterman. The following day, she took an ice-skating spin around Rockefeller Center, dined out with friends - and spent hours at the Sony Music Studio.
And just as Spears is on the move, so is her estranged husband. Michael Sands, a rep for Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, tells PEOPLE that Federline is holding up fine despite the fact that the divorce filing "caught Kevin totally by surprise. I think Kevin's doing pretty well, considering this disastrous situation. But I believe something good will come out of this."
Federline, who performed at Chicago's House of Blues on Wednesday, will be on the road promoting his debut album, Playing with Fire, through Nov. 24. A scheduled Friday-night performance at the House of Blues in Atlantic City was canceled, so instead he'll be in Washington, D.C., for a listening party at the club Platinum. Then it's off to Virginia Beach for a Sunday show, followed by a listening party in Miami on Nov. 17.
As for Federline's effort to gain sole custody of his children with Spears, Sean Preston, 1, and Jayden James (born Sept. 12), Sands says, "Kevin's interested in having as much time as he's allowed with the kids, so he wants full legal and physical custody, with visitation rights for Britney." He adds, "If there were no kids involved, it would be easy, but it's going to take time to iron out a lot of different issues."

Backstreet Boys will return with a new album in spring of next year, singer AJ McLean tells Access Hollywood. The four piece (which also includes members Nick Carter, Brian Littrell and Howie Dorough -- fifth member Kevin Richardson announced he'd left the group earlier this year) has a host of tracks they are expected to wrap up by January. The group's been writing and recording with producer Dan Muckala according to McLean. Rob Wells, whose previous credits include writing and producing with Nick Lachey, is also involved. "It's very piano driven," McLean told Access at the Playstation 3 party Wednesday in Los Angeles. "It's very guitar driven. Lyrically, it's great. Melodies are back. Harmonies are back."
Some former boy-banders, such as Justin Timberlake with help from super producer Timbaland, have opted for a dancier sound of late. The Backstreet Boys won't follow suit.
"It's not so dancey in that sense," McLean said. "We're still gonna dance, we're still gonna be on stage, we're still gonna perform, but it's just really great music. It's always been about the music for us. That's the bottom line."
