New Year Special/Popstars Special

Popstars is an international reality television program and a precursor to the Idol series. The series first began in New Zealand when producer Jonathan Dowling formed the 5 member all-girl group TrueBliss. Dowling then sold the concept to other countries, initially to Australia and then onto the UK before taking worldwide.
This is Special to celebrate Popstars-Groups and new artists that got record deal from or after the show.Many of those winner Groups have broke up and disappeared but well reveal the
Stars that have seen the limelights of Fame and became real artists from show.
Lets see what Popstars have done in few countries...
Finland
First of course from my country,Groups and artists that are from the show.
Members of the first Popstars band in Finland were Jenni Vartiainen, Susanna Korvala, Ushma Karnani, and Jonna Pirinen. After a few weeks arguments between the girls increased, Jonna decided to leave the band. Ushma, Susanna, and Jenni continued. They decided to adopt the name Gimmel.

After leaving the group,Jonna got record deal and started to make R&B Music with great Producers, while ex-group Gimmel recorded Pop/Rock songs.Jonna had great succes with her 1st sexy and sassy R&B record making a way for new artists in r&b music.
She had more succes with her three albums that her ex-band members who decided to broke up in 2004.In future,Jonna is preparing a possible music carrier outside from finland in other countries.

Boyband indX and Girlgroup JANE went head to head to final consert and after all,boys won the contest with most of votes.indX released single and album and both flopped badly and group disappeared soon after.JANE have released four singles and two albums and have managed to get good fanbase and little succes too.In 2005 Fourth member of group,Daniela left the group after she gave birth to baby(Very much like Mutya in Sugababes).Year after,Group took part to Eurovision song contest with song called V.I.P but as we all know,Lordi was selected to represent Finland in finals and won the whole thing.They are practicle like Sugababes of Finland.

SWEDEN
Excellence were a Swedish pop group from 2001 created through the TV programme PopstarsKanal 5. The group scored a number one album on the Swedish Charts, as well as five top 10 singles, and entered Melodifestivalen 2002. The group split up shortly afterwards.

Member Ana Johnsson later scored a worldwide solo hit with the song "We Are" from the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack.Next singles released include "Don't Cry for Pain", a rock ballad where she advises a wife being beaten up by her husband to stand up for her rights, and "Coz I Can", a rock song about teasing the man, showing that women have power too. Both songs were less successful than "We Are" though.Recently (October 2006) she released her second album Little Angel.She is like Avril Lavigne of Sweden.

Girls Aloud,Created from TV talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, Girls Aloud have achieved notable success, with fourteen top 10 hit singles in the British charts (including two number one singles) and four hit albums (including a number one album). Internationally their music has also been released throughout UK, Europe, Australia and Asia.Propably the most known Group from Popstars.

Javine was one of the last six contenders for a place in the girl-band, but she fell at the final hurdle, and missed out on a spot in what became the chart-topping group Girls Aloud, and instead embarked on a solo singing career.In the summer of 2003, Javine released her debut single "Real Things", which featured a sample of M.O.P.'s hit "Ante Up". The single charted inside the UK top 5 at #4 and remains her biggest hit to date. She was selected to represent UK in Kiev at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest.The song,"Touch My Fire" was released as a single in its own right, it became Javine's fifth consecutive top 20 hit, charting at #18 in the UK singles chart.

Monica and Gabriela Irimia shot to fame as the Cheeky Girls after auditions on the British TV shows, Popstars: The Rivals and Channel Four's Model Behaviour. Although they failed to pass the auditions for either show, they received enough publicity to launch a pop career, releasing four singles and one album in the UK, and also touring Europe and Asia.

Hip-hop star Kanye West is used to lots of female attention but was stunned when Sugababe Amelle Berrabah turned him down for a date.
Kanye has had his eye set on the sultry singer since they first met at the Brit awards in February, where he tried to give his number to her. He made his move again a few days later when the Sugababes presented him with Best Solo Artist at the NME Awards.
He grabbed Amelle and said: "I thought she was my prize. Can I have her instead?"
But the 21-year-old has been happily dating former tree-surgeon Freddie Fuller for three years and said she would not consider going out with the hip-hop heavyweight.
Amelle said: " I spoke to him after and he said I was beautiful. I'm flattered but there's no way I'd do anything. I love Freddie." But Kanye didn't give up and tried once again with the newest member of the female trio at last months MTV Europe Awards in Copenhagen.
He invited Amelle back to his hotel room despite the fact he was flanked by two women at the time. West was again disappointed when Amelle spurned his advances and told him it wasn't going to happen. Kanye West was not impressed by being knocked back three times and ordered his 29-year-old assistant to issue Amelle with a furious telling off.
"He said he was not used to be treated like that and I should be more considerate next time I see him," Amelle said. Amelle has said she is very happy with her current boyfriend and would not go running to West just because he clicked his fingers.
