Popstars is an international reality television program and a precursor to the Idol series. The series first began in New Zealand when producer Jonathan Dowling formed the 5 member all-girl group TrueBliss. Dowling then sold the concept to other countries, initially to Australia and then onto the UK before taking worldwide.
This is Special to celebrate Popstars-Groups and new artists that got record deal from or after the show.Many of those winner Groups have broke up and disappeared but well reveal the
Stars that have seen the limelights of Fame and became real artists from show.
Lets see what Popstars have done in few countries...

Finland
First of course from my country,Groups and artists that are from the show.

Members of the first Popstars band in Finland were Jenni Vartiainen, Susanna Korvala, Ushma Karnani, and Jonna Pirinen. After a few weeks arguments between the girls increased, Jonna decided to leave the band. Ushma, Susanna, and Jenni continued. They decided to adopt the name Gimmel.

After leaving the group,Jonna got record deal and started to make R&B Music with great Producers, while ex-group Gimmel recorded Pop/Rock songs.Jonna had great succes with her 1st sexy and sassy R&B record making a way for new artists in r&b music.
She had more succes with her three albums that her ex-band members who decided to broke up in 2004.In future,Jonna is preparing a possible music carrier outside from finland in other countries.

In 2004 There was Popstars second season and two new groups were born.
Boyband indX and Girlgroup JANE went head to head to final consert and after all,boys won the contest with most of votes.indX released single and album and both flopped badly and group disappeared soon after.JANE have released four singles and two albums and have managed to get good fanbase and little succes too.In 2005 Fourth member of group,Daniela left the group after she gave birth to baby(Very much like Mutya in Sugababes).Year after,Group took part to Eurovision song contest with song called V.I.P but as we all know,Lordi was selected to represent Finland in finals and won the whole thing.They are practicle like Sugababes of Finland.

SWEDEN

Excellence were a Swedish pop group from 2001 created through the TV programme PopstarsKanal 5. The group scored a number one album on the Swedish Charts, as well as five top 10 singles, and entered Melodifestivalen 2002. The group split up shortly afterwards.

Member Ana Johnsson later scored a worldwide solo hit with the song "We Are" from the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack.Next singles released include "Don't Cry for Pain", a rock ballad where she advises a wife being beaten up by her husband to stand up for her rights, and "Coz I Can", a rock song about teasing the man, showing that women have power too. Both songs were less successful than "We Are" though.Recently (October 2006) she released her second album Little Angel.She is like Avril Lavigne of Sweden.

Girls Aloud,Created from TV talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, Girls Aloud have achieved notable success, with fourteen top 10 hit singles in the British charts (including two number one singles) and four hit albums (including a number one album). Internationally their music has also been released throughout UK, Europe, Australia and Asia.Propably the most known Group from Popstars.

Javine was one of the last six contenders for a place in the girl-band, but she fell at the final hurdle, and missed out on a spot in what became the chart-topping group Girls Aloud, and instead embarked on a solo singing career.In the summer of 2003, Javine released her debut single "Real Things", which featured a sample of M.O.P.'s hit "Ante Up". Hip-hop star Kanye West is used to lots of female attention but was stunned when Sugababe Amelle Berrabah turned him down for a date.
Kanye has had his eye set on the sultry singer since they first met at the Brit awards in February, where he tried to give his number to her. He made his move again a few days later when the Sugababes presented him with Best Solo Artist at the NME Awards.
He grabbed Amelle and said: "I thought she was my prize. Can I have her instead?"
But the 21-year-old has been happily dating former tree-surgeon Freddie Fuller for three years and said she would not consider going out with the hip-hop heavyweight.
Amelle said: " I spoke to him after and he said I was beautiful. I'm flattered but there's no way I'd do anything. I love Freddie." But Kanye didn't give up and tried once again with the newest member of the female trio at last months MTV Europe Awards in Copenhagen.

He invited Amelle back to his hotel room despite the fact he was flanked by two women at the time. West was again disappointed when Amelle spurned his advances and told him it wasn't going to happen. Kanye West was not impressed by being knocked back three times and ordered his 29-year-old assistant to issue Amelle with a furious telling off.
"He said he was not used to be treated like that and I should be more considerate next time I see him," Amelle said. Amelle has said she is very happy with her current boyfriend and would not go running to West just because he clicked his fingers.

Atomic Kitten have decided to stage a reunion, according to a report today.

The girlband discussed the surprise move after performing together again for a charity gig in Liverpool last week. The trio are now planning a special New Year's Eve gig before recording new material in 2007.

A source close to the singers told The People: "They've remained friends over the past few years. They all wanted the chance to do their own thing but now feel the time is right to reform."

"Break It Off" is a pop/dancehall song written by R&B/Reggae singer Rihanna and Sean Paul. The song is the fourth single from her sophmore platinum album A Girl Like Me. Sean Paul has confirmed that this song will be a single from his new CD due out in the spring of 2007. Airplay has steadily started to rise since mid-October due to Rihanna's first failed single "We Ride." The single has no video for now but already has managed to peak at number 71 on the Hot 100. The video has already been filmed and is planned for release Mid to Late December. The song is to be released in the UK early January.

"Fired Up" called the song Jessica's " is the third single from Jessica Simpson's fourth album A Public Affair. Scott StorchDirrty", referring to the controversial single released by Christina Aguilera in 2002. This song is rumored to the become the third single from A Public Affair to be released in February. The video is to be filmed in New York in January and premiere on TRL.

"Good To Be Gone" is the second single from the Sugababes' greatest hits compilation Overloaded: The Singles Collection. It is expected to be released in January 2007, and the supposed B-Side is a song titled "In Recline", which the demo version was recently played on producer Jony Rockstar's official MySpace profile.

Chick Fit is going to be the second single taken from British-Girl-band All Saints' third album Studio 1.The single was confirmed by release by Parlophone records after rumours started circulating that the band had been dropped due to their album Studio 1 only made #40 in the UK albums chart.

"What Goes Around..." is the third single from Justin Timberlake's sophomore solo album FutureSex/LoveSounds. The song has been described as a 2006 version of Cry Me a River, due to the similarity in theme of the two songs. Both songs are scathing attacks on an unfaithful lover. Despite the familiar topic, Timberlake has stated that "What Goes Around..." is not about Britney Spears, whose alleged infidelities were the inspiration for "Cry Me A River". Rather, he claims the song is based on the experience of his best friend Trace Ayala, who previously dated actress Elisha Cuthbert.

"Upgrade U" is an R&B song written by Beyoncé Knowles, Mk. Makeba, Sean Garrett, Solange Knowles, Angela Beyince, Jay-Z, Willie Clarke and Clarence Reid. It is the fourth single released from Beyoncé's second album, B'Day. The single features Jay-Z and is their fourth single collaborating together; it samples Betty Wright's "Girls Can't Do What the Guys Do". The original version of the song was to have featured T.I.. The song is about a relationship between a female and a male. Beyonce is singing that she can upgrade her man, introduce him to new things, make his life style better and make his reputation greater.Unexpectedly, the single entered the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts without being released as a single. It debuted on the Hot 100 on November 9, 2006 at number ninety-two and its current peak position is 64, and it has peaked at number 13 on the R&B chart. Girls Aloud and Sugababes are set to team up and record the official charity song for next year's Comic Relief. The female supergroup are apparently halfway through the vocals for the track, which is reportedly a cover of a hip-hop tune.
The eight-piece band - made up of Girls Aloud members Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh plus Sugababes Heidi Range, Keisha Buchanan and Amelle Berrabah - will also record a video for the song.
A Comic Relief insider told the Daily Star: "It's a real coup getting both groups together for a song. They're the hottest female pop bands in the UK - having even one would be a result."

McFly's track 'All About You / You've Got A Friend' was the official song for the last Comic Relief in March 2005, while Tony Christie's 'Amarillo (Is This The Way To?)' also raised cash for the charity fundraiser

MEL B learnt she had been dumped by Eddie Murphy - when friends phoned to tell her.
The ex-Spice Girl was on a US-bound jet when he told the world on a TV show.
Mel only found out when she landed and checked messages from worried friends.
She bravely smiled through her torment but a pal admitted yesterday: "Mel's beyond gutted. She was set to marry this guy and now he's knocked the wind out of her."
The mum-to-be, 31, left her Los Angeles home last week for a wedding in Britain, hoping that one day she too would walk down the aisle with the comic.
But Eddie, 45, was secretly seeing new love Tracey Edmonds. He later told a Dutch TV station he had ditched Mel and wanted a DNA test to prove the baby was his.

The friend went on: "When she left America on Thursday last week she had no idea of the bombshell waiting to go off.The news broke while she was on the plane from London back to LA. She was stunned to see so many photographers and couldn't understand why they were all asking her how she felt.

Then all of a sudden she got these messages asking if she was OK after what Eddie had done.
"At first she thought it was some kind of joke but then she called one of her friends who read the story down the phone to her. She's been in pieces ever since. Not only has she been dumped but the man she loves has run off with someone else and is making her out to be some sort of slapper.

"Mel is totally devastated by what Eddie has done, her whole world's been torn apart. She really thought they were going to be together for a very long time."
The Leeds-born star is particularly incensed at dad-of-six Eddie's slur that another man may have fathered her baby. She is set to hire a top lawyer to fight the allegations and handle any ensuing paternity battles.

Her friend added: "Mel is sickened Eddie is questioning paternity. She wasn't sleeping around when she met him and has been faithful throughout their relationship.
"She accepts there will have to have a test but really can't believe it has come to this. She's getting a lawyer immediately."
The singer and Shrek comic Eddie began dating in June, two months after he divorced Nicole, his wife of 12 years.
Mel, who has a seven-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, is said to have become pregnant the first time they slept together.

Eddie broke the news about the end of the relationship in an interview with Dutch show RTL Boulevard to plug his new movie Dreamgirls.
He said coldly: "We're not together any more and we don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test."
Yesterday Eddie's spokesman vainly tried to deny he made the outburst. He claimed: "Mr Murphy does not discuss his personal life publicly, so whatever is being reported is a fabrication and did not occur."

Beyonce wants to work with Latin singer Shakira. Beyonce Knowles has revealed that she'd love to work with Latin firecracker Shakira - and has even penned a song for what looks set to be one of the most glamorous pairings in pop.

"I have a song written for her," confirms the bootylicious singer, who admits she's a big fan of her Colombian counterpart.

"I've met her a couple of times, she's so sweet and genuine," Beyonce says of Shakira. "She's talented, she's a rounded artist."

"No-one else sounds like her, she has her own style - she is an entertainer," adds the 25-year-old, who admits that she even went to one of Shakira's live shows recently.

But who knows when fans can expect the pair's proposed duet, which will surely be a hip-shaking extravaganza.
