Album of The Year:
"Circus" by Britney Spears
Over 500 votes were given to this award. Album of the Year, voted by viewers of VipMedia is... "Circus" again from Britney Spears. Well, the album WAS fantastic! Britney left behind also brilliant records, leaving again Lady Gaga (Fame) as second and again Rihanna (Good girl gone bad: Reloaded) as third. UK's #1 album by Girls Aloud and brilliant second album by Pussycat Dolls dropped to next spots with just few votes. Close call!

"When I Grow Up" performed by: Pussycat Dolls
There was great R&B-Tracks released this year! You all voted for the best ones. Most votes got club-banger "When I Grow up" by the Pussycat Dolls. Fantastic choise, that would have been our choise too. Closely behind were "Single Ladies" by Beyonce and disbanded Danity Kane with their last hit-single "Damaged".
Best Pop Single:
"Womanizer" performed by: Britney Spears
Results for the "Best Pop Single" were no surprise. "Womanizer" seems to be the anthem of 2008, since it was voted as the Best Pop single by you too! But the "losers" were not that bad either. Latest hit from Lady Gaga "Poker Face" and fantastic new-comer The Saturdays with "Up" were close behind.
Video of the Year:
"Womanizer" by Britney Spears/ Directed by Joseph Kahn
Britney is Unstoppable! Her flashy video for "Womanizer" recieved almost 200 votes from you all, leaving fantastic videos of "Disturbia", "Single Ladies" and "Poker Face" behind. She can do no wrong, can she?

"Circus" by Britney Spears
After horrible cover art of her previous album "Blackout", her desingners can now be satisfied because the fans seem rather happy with their latest work. "Circus" was voted as the best CD Cover this year, leaving Lady Gaga's and Pussycat Dolls album's behind.

Lady Gaga
2008 has been the year of comebacks and new acts suddenly popping from nowhere. Best new act of 2008 voted by you is Lady Gaga. She recieved most votes, over 200 votes! Second most votes recieved Katy Perry and 3rd place went to new girlgroup The Saturdays.
Best Comeback:
Britney Spears
We recieved votes from you guys via email and with the comments you made in the post. It was also discussed is Britney's "return" really a proper comeback, since she never kind of left. But it's fine line and most of you thought she definately deserves this award. Apart from few votes, all of the people voted for Britney.
Most Overrated Song of the Year:
Mariah Carey "Touch My Body"
It was interesting to hear the songs being named for this category. Second most votes went to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and also Lady Gaga and Katy Perry both recieved bunch of votes with their two first singles. But it was Mariah Carey that won this award with her #1 single "Touch my Body". Some viewers have thought wrong throughout the year, that we hate Mariah Carey. We actually LOVED "Migrate" and liked "Touch my body". She's just not one of our own favourites.
Most Underrated Song of the Year
Pussycat Dolls "I Hate this Part"
Brilliant choise guys. Touche! Pussycat Dolls second single "I Hate this Part" recieved the most votes from you all, being the most underrated song of the year. We have still time to change that. It's still making it's impact on charts. Download it, buy the single to make it chart higher. That's what I've done. Also, many of you mentioned "No can Do" by Sugababes. It was JUST released so fans can also change that.

"Make sure you download Hilary's amazing new single REACH OUT on JANUARY 6th!
"Reach Out" was produced by Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic and co-written by Tedder, Evan Bogart and Mika Guillory. The song features a sample from Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus". The album version of "Reach Out" had its audio premiere via Duff's official YouTube channel on October 3, 2008.
Why resort to a download day?
Hollywood Records removed Hilary's latest album, "The Best Of" from iTunes on November 11th, the day of release. Making "Reach Out" and "Holiday" ineligible to debut on Billboard's Hot 100. The album has just returned on December 18th, with both songs available to purchase separately. The problem being, that the song and any hype that Hilary had garnered for it, had passed.
In order to give Hilary, her 6th charting single on the Hot 100, Hilary fans must unite to download the track on January 6th."

Girls Aloud performing "The Promise" on Christmas Special of Top of the Pops. This must be one of the best performances of this song by them, Cheryl was vocally fantastic! All of the girls shined and they seemed to really enjoy performing.
Live performance of The Saturdays fits comfortably in the same post. This is them performing "Issues" on National Lottery. Somehow I've been sort of scared of their live vocals before, even when I have seen great performances from them but not anymore. Fantastic vocals girls! Some pessimistic Sugababes-hater might say that Suga's should be scared of these ladies, but I think there is room for everyone. I love their debut album and pre-ordered "Issues" Single, so go on and do the same! Also, check out their performance of "Up" that unfortunately was mimed. Pre-recorded vocals.

Pussycat Dolls performed their latest single "I Hate this Part" in the christmas special of TOTP. The girls really do look tired from the promoting tour, you can tell. But what makes this performance special, is the great vocals they had AND the fact that for the first time you can actually hear Melody backing up Nicole on the vocals. Fantastic! It does make a diffirence, doesn't it? You can tell that she's nervous but she did so well. Nicole looks so sloppy with her dancing, she really seems so pissed and tired. I'd be too! They've been touring between UK, US and Germany doing live performances and interviews all over to promote this single. If only the girls would have had the energy they had before, this would have been my FAVOURITE performance. I love the little diffirence that Melody does. Let's go and download few copies of their new single for the sake of their success, Ya'll!

Serebro, russian girlgroup and their latest video for their latest russian single, "Skazhi Ne Molchi (Say, do not be silent)". The video has nice special effects and the girls look stunning again. This video and song remind me of their second single/video for "Dyshi/Breathe" that was just overwhelming. This new one is fantastic, but not as good. If only I'd understand a word of russian, but I don't. But I do enjoy their music. Their album, that has been "coming up" since the summer of 2007, has been delayed due the difficult financial times in the world. That has been said to be the reason. Anyway, if you JUST heard about them, please check out the brilliance of their previous singles "Opium" and "Song #1".

"We want to start in February and take about a year to write it. But it depends - if everything goes well and we get a massive single, then obviously we'll come back straight away." The band release their new single 'No Can Do' on December 29.

Their next australian single "Bottle Pop" will be released later as their 3rd worldwide single, but latest reports confirm "Whatcha think about that" being their 3rd UK Single. The song was originally meant to be released in the UK in November but was postponed for the release of "I Hate This Part". The release date for the Single is yet unknown but the song was added to Capital Radio's playlist on the 20th December and the video will be viewable on UK TV.
Will it be a hit in UK?

Katy Perry and a new video for her 3rd worldwide single "Thinking of you". The first edition was guite diffirent from this and this is very unexpected type of a video for her. I also hear new arrangements on the song, so this means bit diffirent version for the single. The video is stunning, showing Katy being a wife of army man that later is being killed in a war. The song itself is sad and this makes it bit more depressing. Not too much though but it makes you moody. I care to say that after "Hot'n Cold" that showed how Katy is no one-hit-wonder and kicks some serious butt on the Pop charts, this will show that Katy is here to stay and should be taken as serious artist with diffirent sides and styles. This video made me even more a fan of hers.

Anna Abreu and her latest music video, for the second single called "Silent Despair". The reason I didn't post this earlier was that her label requested all of the youtube versions of this video to disable the Embedding. Anyway, this song has also been very succesful in Finland like the first single "Vinegar". Anna is finnish Pop princess that has released two albums, debut went straight to #1 spot and the follow-up debuted as #2 but jumped to the top spot soon after. Her first album included singles like "End of Love", that was covered by Queensberry, german new popstars-girlgroup, "Ivory Tower" and "Are you Ready".
The song is beautiful ballad with gorgeous vocals, as it's best. Overall it's nothing too special but very enjoyable track with catchy melody. The video is pretty boring but shows pretty shots of Anna showed slowly backwards and the whole idea keeps on throughout the video. I like the video now, after few views it gets better and the girl is just stunning, although I hate the scenes on the sofa.

-Grammy-nominated Lady Gaga is set to release "Eh Eh (Nothing else I can say)" in australia, but will it be her next worldwide single? "Just Dance" is making it's debut soon on UK, while the rest of the world will get "Poker Face". From our point of view, the next singles should be:
3rd Single: Paparazzi/ 4th Single: LoveGame
-Britney Spears has finally a proper comeback! "Circus" has sold loads worldwide and her two singles "Womanizer" and "Circus" that is not yet even officially released, are both on the US Top 10. There is rumours of either "Mannequin" or "Out from under" being a single, but as fantastic "Mannequin" is as a fan, I don't think everyone will appreciate it too much and she would be mad to release something other than...
3rd Single: Out from Under /4th Single: If U Seek Amy

Radio
Click the title to see his video for this first single from the album. The song is great, sounds so swedish and radio-friendly and the video is visual and artistic but I don't like his looks being that "tacky" on the video. If he looked slimey before, now he definately does. But he moves well.
Kiss you All over
No, this is not a Britney Spears-cover, as some sources claimed before the album was released. It's great, powerfull Pop/Dance track. Could be the next single.
Utopia
It's sudden fashion in music to use cool sounding words like "Insomnia" and "Disturbia". Well, here is "Utopia". Fantastic uptempo number with catchy chorus.
Unite this Heart
Bit more moody dance-track. I like the arrangement of the track that makes a change in the album, that has such a quality pop that it almost gets boring and you don't know where the last track ended up and the next started. Will this be another "If Only You"?
Set Your Body Free
Track starts up with Fat bass and Darin-type of a vocals. After almost "hunting" verses, the chorus sounds bit lame but after awhile it starts to sound guite good! Fun and more edgy song between few "safe-play"-tracks. I'm not huge fan of the high-pitch vocals near of the end of the song, but great song whatsoever.
Turn off the Sound
I love the deep sounds and vocals on the verses and the electric chorus. There is something very appealing on this track. Something beyond Dance/Pop. It sounds like a house-remix of the orginal. I love how the songs "grows" a bit closer to the end and then it "shuts down" slowly.
For the last words, it was very unnessery to add "Tokio" as a bonus track. I can understand "If Only You" being added, since the previous album didn't include the "Radio Version" of it. And I despise the acoustic version of the first single "Radio", I hate the vocals.

Pussycats performing "I Hate this Part" on the Season finale of "The Hills". There is something addictive about The Hills. All of the drama and the forever continuing affair of Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, that still leaves us wondering what goes on in her head. Apparently nothing. Anyway, it was nice to combine the two great things together by Pussycat Dolls performing on the aftershow. Great performance and I'm loving the new performance version. Get yours from iTunes and support the girls! There is something about this song, I'm still not tired of this song after playing it daily since the album was released and hearing it from all over. And can't wait for "Bottle Pop".

- Pussycat Dolls are HOT on Australian Charts. "Bottle Pop" has officially made a debut on radios this week and there is rumours of the video being shot before the new year or soon after.
-Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys confirmed that they have recorded new songs for their upcoming follow-up for "Unbreakable". While still being on their current tour, the guys recorded a song with Chris Brown, their label mate. Nick also confirmed BSB working with producers such as T-Pain. Other producers that have been named include Max Martin, Darkchild, Polow Da Don, Ryan Tedder and Akon. There is also sources that say that AJ mentioned the boys recording a song with Rihanna.

Beyonce's video for "Halo". The video is basically all about being beautiful and cute. Bee's chemistry with the guy is great and the video feels like a musical movie scene cut out from a movie. But damn, it's bit boring. It's beautiful and Beyonce looks fantastic but yet I was expecting something powerful, iconic and FIERCE. But this wasn't Sasha. But does that mean that real Beyonce is just dull and boring and un-edgy? I'm sure it doesn't mean that but the video was bit of a letdown. Can't wait for her next singles. I love "Halo" but I would ADORE the next two to be "Sweet Dreams" and "Radio".
As a fan, I enjoyed it but in general it was bit boring.
Video for "Diva" is whole another story. Sasha Fierce being Diva. Honestly, I hate the idea of these videos being Black and White. Just like they did with "Single Ladies". It worked then but I think this one needed colours! But seriously about the video... I liked it. It was fierce, she was diva and it was guite interesting what "art" they made out of a simple video. And I LOVE the ending! This video definately shows how Beyonce had her hands on it. And yes, the B&W style is being used all over the cover art and stuff so it fits. But I loved this album more than the previous one but I loved the previous videos more than these new ones.
Isn't this song the most cheekiest, cathiest and most annoying at the same time?
Love it.

The rumours are claiming "Best Of" DVD being released early next year with "Holiday" following as the last single with Hollywood records. But the new label for Hilary's upcoming new album is Universal Music Group. Fantastic! Acts under that label are Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Pussycat Dolls. I think ANY label would do better job than Hollywood records. Album is set to be released later on 2009.
Labels: Hilary Duff, Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna
Pussycat Dolls performing medley of "Don't Cha/I Hate this Part/When I Grow Up". Great performance and good to see Ashley back! She was ill during their previous promotional performance. I hope this performance made a little push on "I Hate this Part" in the charts, it's doing kinda good but I wish it would get the succes it deserves. They are also working their ass off for this single.
Rihanna performing "Take a Bow" for some reason. I Would've promoted "Rehab" instead, although it's being released next year. Verses were kinda all over the place but she saved in the chorus. Overall pretty good considering how hard the song is, and how she is not Mariah Carey vocally. I loved the set in the stage and her way of entering the stage.
Take That performing "Greatest Day". Performing it live again. It was funny to see them miming few days ago on some award-show this very same song. There is no doubt about their vocals not being perfect but somehow they mimed then, yet they made headlines by trashing Britney Spears miming on UK's X-factor. Even if it's just one performance, don't bash other acts using playback, when you're soon following it. Ironic. Anyway, fantastic performance! They also performed "Shine". May I just say how I hate this guy's voice. I prefer Gary vocally big time. And I would have loved to hear the performing their next single, whatever it will be.

Girls Aloud performing "The loving Kind" at Paul O'Grady. Girls looked stunning and their appearance on the show was enjoyable, I loved the interview! This wasn't vocally as outstanding as the first performance on their own show earlier but this was still fine. Nicola's vocals were so strong again, it's so surprising!

Britney in Japan, performing "Womanizer" on NTV Best Artist 2008. Cool one, but I liked her previous performance more. And is it just me or am I crazy for being already bit tired to "Womanizer" performances? Can't complain tho, the girls is working her butt off promoting it!
Sugababes performing "Every heart Broken" along with few other tracks on their album on The Album Chart Show. Please, girls let this song be your next single. I Don't know if it will help the sales much though. Stunning performance! Keep doing what you do best girls! Hits! Girls will start writing their next album already on January! David Archuleta and his new video for "A Little too Not over you". Fantastic choise, I like the song very much and he is such a talented guy. Check out his AOL Sessions-performance of the song, he makes it seem so easy! Back to the video, I like the consept and how the video gets better in the end. Some people might think this is boring clip, but I liked it more than "Crush". As a song and as a video. They are absolutely MAD if they have no plans to release "Desperate".

Pussycat Dolls performing on Wetten Dass in germany. I Love the new version of "I Hate this Part" they've done, they are definately trying to show the audience how they are still "hot". The song is finally starting to make impact all over the world peaking on Top 30 in singles charts of Australia, Denmark, German, Irland, Japan, Norway, Turkey and UK and climbing fast on iTunes all over the world.
Also, Download Exclusive Official Performance Remix of "I Hate this Part"! They performed this version on the show, and it's been digitally released in Germany. Just in Germany. So thank you Cayla, German fan for sending this!

Britney Spears performing "Womanizer" on Japanese show HEY HEY HEY. Now that's what I call confidence. And I love the other improvements they did on the choreography. Dunno if it's just my laptop or do I hear her vocals again on the first verse. Fantastic performance! Can't wait to see more.

Girls Aloud performing "Love is Pain" on their own one-off-show The Girls Aloud Party. Vocally amaizing and the girls look stunning! Perhaps this would be fantastic single #3?
"The Promise" has proved doubts over the song wrong with being STILL on UK's top 20, at #15. This performance is once again fantastic and the girls look like pretty Mermaids on their silver glitter-gawns. They also performed songs like Something Kinda oooh, Love Machine, I'll stand by you and Call the shots.
And here's their first TV-Performance of "The Loving Kind". Beautiful performance! Especially loving the vocals of Kimberley and Nicola, weirdly. I love how they turned this performance to similar version they did with "Call the Shots". If you didn't think those two were similar til now, You'll must agree how the performances of those two follow the same structure.

Miley Cyrus with her best song to date, "Fly on the Wall". I never thought I'd post something about her, but yet I did. But I genuenly enjoy this, and the video was fun! Visually it was mixture of Britney Spears "Piece of Me" and Lindsay Lohan "Rumours", both with the similar idea. But the dancing scene when the paparazzis started to dance was hilarious idea! And I loved the acting parts in the beginning and the end was just funniest! So love me or hate me, but I officially love this song and the video!

Britney and her STUNNING new video for "Circus", just leaked on internet! It's fantastic piece of art. It's like, I asked my brother in a halfway of the video to say What one thing of Circus haven't shown yet in the video. He said "Elephant" and two seconds later, even elephant was in the video! Perfect video for the song, she was so beautiful, sexy and had so much confidence and energy. She needs to get that to her performances. Great job! Another hit and another EPIC video for her.

Girls Aloud with the new video for "The Loving Kind". Damn Sarah looks like Madonna in the clip, doesn't she? Especially in the beginning. The video is very posh, stylish and just gorgeous. Girls have bright red lipstick and sexy dresses on, hair is floating in the air and they look at camera with passioned sexy looks. There is no bigger idea behind the video, it's purely visual pleasure but it works. I loved it. They look stunning, the song is beautiful and I love the new "Single Version", intro sounds so good.
Will this be a hit? It was obvious single choise from the brilliant album. The new single will be released on 12th January, with a B-side called "Japan". There will also be 7" vinyl picture disc released, being sold in their official webstore as well as on music stores. Definately getting those as well, Already have "The Promise" as vinyl, CDS and the album.

Britney performing "Circus" on GMA. Great performance! She looked BANGING showing her belly, with leather pants and getting all confident. But it IS showing more and more, like starting to show on me how Britney is less active on stage, even with miming. This song, especially the bridge NEEDED more dancing. So that wasn't perfect but good.
"Womanizer" performance was the best she's done so far, on confidence level. I am writing this in a laptop so it's pretty hard to tell if she had any or more live vocals going on, but she looked fucking stunning! Both of these performances were stylewize very good and she looked SO confident. There is still bit to go to that confident FEISTY Britney but we are getting there quickly!
I told ya!

Fantastic new video from Brandy. "Long Distance" is the title of the song that is slowly starting to take off. Still amaized how this does so much better on charts than the brilliant "Right Here (Departed)". Shame. Anyway, she looks great in the video and the song is beautiful. Hopefully this will be another hit for her, would be the great start for the album, that is fantastic.

These girls are SO not about to stop!
