Britney Spears (29%)
While Lady Gaga was winning this from day one, she lost with just few votes to Britney Spears who in fact really seemed to be the biggest female artist in headlines. This year only for the positive reasons, she toured the whole year on a first tour since 2005. She also released two singles after two previous huge hits from "Circus" and released one from "Singles Collection".
Best Single
Britney Spears "3" (22%)
The title of single of the year is "3" and it was pretty obvious from the start of the voting. While this song was very succesful in charts too being her latest #1 single, she left behind big hits too.
Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" got 12% and Cheryl Cole's UK #1-single "Fight for this Love" recieved 11% from the votes.
Best Rumoured Unreleased Single
Britney Spears "Unusual You" (22%)
We added a poll of the best rumoured single that got unreleased for some reason. Britney totally killed the poll with her song "Unusual You" that just seems to be very strong hit amongst her fans, but for some reason was left unreleased. She took the most votes but after this song, it was tough fight between three tracks that recieved exactly the same amount of votes. Those three songs were Girls Aloud rumoured 4th single "Love is Pain", "Painted Windows" that was rumoured to be released from The Pussycat Dolls re-release of "Doll Domination" and Rihanna's "Breakin' Dishes" that was released as a remix promo but was to be released before getting scrapped.

David Guetta (38%)
Robbie Williams, who recieved just 15% of the votes was set to have his big comeback this year but 2009 seems to be David Guetta's year. His latest album "One Love" has spawned two huge hits, "When Love Takes Over" featuring Kelly Rowland and "Sexy Bitch" featuring Akon. Clubs are just eating up his brand new singles, so let's just wait for the next hit from this man.
Best Dance Act:
David Guetta (49%)
David seems to be pretty huge out there since he pretty much dominated this poll too, taking almost half of the all votes and clearly winning this one. Guetta really dominated the dancefloor's and radio stations this year too! His own singles as well as Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" that was number one single all over the world for weeks, was produced by David. So without a doubt, he really was the dance act of the year.

Girls Aloud (26%)
Girls Aloud who are on their hiatus at the moment were chosen as the group of the year. The group released two singles and a tour DVD this year and are set to comeback next year. These five ladies have had 20 consecutive Top 10 singles in UK alone, four number one singles and five studio albums, single collection and five huge tours. Pussycat Dolls, who have been touring this year, enjoying some big hits as well as flops and made headlines with the breakup rumours were close second with 23%. Black Eyed Peas, who seemed to be winning for the first week finnished up as third.
Best Bonus track,Unreleased or B-side of 2009
Girls Aloud "Memory of you" (26%)
"Memory of You", electric b-side orginally featured on Girls Aloud's single "The Loving Kind" is very loved apparently. The song got thrown into 7" vinyl single edition with no digital release and fans got angry. Luckily the song was re-released in a Singles Box they released, including all of their singles with all of the b-sides and remixes. There was just diffirence of two votes between this song and Lady Gaga's "Fashion", that was left second in the end.

Cheryl Cole (68%)
With her band as group of the year, Cheryl Cole dominated the poll for the Best new act. She has made a respectable solo career in just few months. Her album "3 Words" that has sold two times platinum in UK (over 600 000 copies), includes her first single "Fight for this Love", that went straight to the top spot of the charts and her second single "3 Words" that is top 5 single already. Cheryl pretty much left everyone behind in the beginning of the poll and took almost 70% of the votes. Whoa!

Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" (42%)
There was no competition. Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" seems to be the most loved and orginal music-video this year, now winning the poll of Best Music Video. Francis Lawrence, who is behind such videos as "Buttons" by The Pussycat Dolls and "Circus" by Britney Spears, directed this clip. There isn't really anything to be said about it. Just watch the video and agree.
Best Pop Single
Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" (27%)
Lady Gaga seems to be the Queen of the year with winning the poll of "Best Pop Single" with clear votes. Britney's "3" recieved 18% and "Untouchable" by Girls Aloud got 12% of the votes, leaving them well behind. This is dedicated to anyone saying she's one trick pony. Gaga is here to stay.

Beyonce ft. Lady Gaga - Video Phone (21%)
"Video Phone", Beyonce's latest single featuring Lady Gaga haven't had the success in charts but they sure did win the poll for collaboration of the year. Cheryl Cole and Will.I.AM were very close with "3 Words" as well as David Guetta and Kelly Rowland and their collaboration "When Love Takes Over", with just few votes apart from each other. "Video Phone" is great video and cool track but something tells me, Gaga holds even bigger hit in her hands with her duet with Beyonce, "Telephone".

Lady Gaga - Monster (17%)
Lady Gaga once again! Best CD artwork this year was chosen by you guys and it's Gaga's "The Fame Monster". Behind her was "3" single cover from Britney Spears and Queen of Pop Madonna and her collection's cover "Celebration".
Best Album
Lady Gaga - Fame Monster (47%)
If the artwork of the album was adored by you guys, the inside of the CD didn't recieve anything negative either. The album itself got almost half of the votes and became the album of the year. Two other albums you seemed to enjoy, Cheryl Cole's "3 Words" and Rihanna's latest, "Rated R" both recieved 10% from the 557 Votes given to this poll.

Sugababes - Get Sexy (17%)
The winner of this poll was quite a suprise to us. The brilliant hotness, "Get Sexy" by Sugababes was voted as the best urban single of 2009. This remains the last single of Suga's that Keisha, their most urban member laid her vocals to. The song was #2 single in UK and charted in Germany, Australia, Irland and Sweden, recieving airplay in most of european countries. Sugababes left behind Beyonce's "Sweet Dreams" and "Halo" as well as Mariah Carey (Obsessed), Pussycat Dolls(Bottle Pop) and Rihanna (Hard).

Girls Can't Catch (23%)
UK's new girlgroup Girls Can't Catch was voted as the best recommendation we've had this year in VipMedia. Anna Abreu, our beautiful finnish pop-princess was close second with 19% of the votes and german girlgroup No Angels behind Anna with 13%. GCC has released just one single with their second single to be released early next year, so hopefully they'll come off as a success.

Shakira (23%)
Best comeback was definately Shakira's "She Wolf", a Pop-record with fantastic tracks besides the title track. She's all over the place with her new sexier image and catchy singles. Shakira got the most of the votes and left Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson and even Whitney Houston far behind.

Pussycat Dolls - Hush Hush; Hush Hush (Dave Aude Remix) (18%)
Dave Aude, who has done fantastic remixes to Pussycat Dolls before, remixed the uptempo version of their ballad "Hush Hush" to their "Doll Domination Tour". The song featured a sample of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" and they later decided to release it as a final single from "Doll Domination". There is a remix with the sample, one without and then "Re-remix" from Dave with heavier beats throughout the song. The new version was voted as the best remix of 2009 and we have to agree. Madonna's hit "Celebration" as Benny Benassi remix was close second with 16 %. There was also Dave Aude's remix for Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" as third on the poll results.

Britney Spears - The Circus Starring Britney Spears (28%)
Without a doubt, Britney Spears was the queen of tours this year. Her tour got started early 2009 and was just finnished and we're talking about Britney, who was claimed to be never touring again. "Circus Tour" was a mixture of her older hits but mostly included tracks from her two previous albums "Blackout" and "Circus". In the first leg of the tour, she was opened by the Pussycat Dolls. Britney's tour got pretty much all the press coverage too, making both positive and negative reviews over the comeback tour. "Circus Tour" left behind Lady Gaga's and Girls Aloud's tours in the poll results.

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (27%)
"Paparazzi" video, directed by Jonas Åkerlund recieved most votes from this poll. Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" was voted as the video with the best storyline with "Bad Romance", her latest video as close second. Shocking video, with three versions available has recieved great success and no wonder it was voted the best in this category. 538 votes was given to this one.

Christina Aguilera (25%)
Aguilera who has been recording her upcoming album was voted for the most anticipated comeback yet to come. If this gives us any clue, her next album that will be released on spring 2010 will be huge success. Watch out Britney! Spice Girls And Girls Aloud also recieved great amount of votes in this poll. Girls Aloud will make their comeback next year with X-tina but there is nothing but speculation and talks of the comeback between the Spice Girls. There is something planned though, so fingers crossed for that!

Lady Gaga - Poker Face (22%)
Lady Gaga is definately the Queen of VipMedia Awards but also total dominator in this category. She charted with total of three #1 singles this year and two of them won the poll. "Bad Romance" lost to "Poker Face" with just few votes. Later in the results we found UK's #1 single "Fight for this Love" by Cheryl Cole Fight and Britney Spears and her US #1 single "3". We must say we agree with this winner too, "Poker Face" was definately one of the most played songs on 2009 and maybe the most deserved #1 single in early 2009.
Agree or Dissagree with these?

Miley also confirmed that the first single from her upcoming album will be released on early spring with the album being released on late June. Sources say the album is almost finnished already and Miley has made a statement that this might be the last Pop-record from her. She wants to take a break from music scene for sometime and comeback with something more edgy.

Work is already under way on the group's follow-up to their 2008 album, Doll Domination, and the group's creator, Robin Antin, admits there's one Black Eyed Pea she'd love to get on board for a song or two. "As far as women, I'd love to do a collaboration with Fergie," Antin told MTV News. "I think having her on an album would be incredible and something I've always wanted to do." Antin would also like to see Snoop Dogg, who worked with the group on past singles "Bottle Pop" and "Buttons," rejoin the ladies to see what kind of chemistry they can cook up this time around. "You never know, maybe Snoop will come back," she said. "He's always someone we love." Although the record is still in its early phases, Antin said fans will be pleased with the direction the group's sound is taking. "A couple of the songs right now that we're working on are absolutely incredible," she said. "Fun and definitely like a cool, unique sound. It's definitely new and fresh, and I think everyone's going to love it for sure."
As the group's album is prepared already with Nicole Scherzinger, the crew behind the group is searching for new talent. "We're looking at new girls. It's phase three of the Pussycat Dolls because we did our first album, our second album, and now we're going on to our third. We're touring. ... A lot is coming up."

Along with Swift and Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Maxwell are among the first acts announced as performers at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards, which airs live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS. Additional performers and presenters are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Beyoncé received 10 nominations, competing against Swift in categories like Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Country act Lady Antebellum have two nominations. Meanwhile, the Black Eyed Peas and Maxwell are up for six awards each.
"This is a blessing. We're very blessed," Fergie told MTV News about the band's nominations earlier this month. "The thing is, we're still hungry, we're still working hard ... and all of the work we've put into it just makes us appreciate it more."
This seems to be pretty good event for Lady Gaga and Beyonce to perform together to promote "Telephone", don't you think?

Sugababes performing their chrismas single "Santa Baby" on TOTP Christmas special. As a song it's not anything bigger than a festive christmas song showing off their vocal talent. A home for the Holidays-performance from Shakira. She's already taking a new step towards the next single which is "Gypsy". I'd hate if she stops performing current singles now and starts to push new releases forward. "Give it up to Me" and "Did it Again" deserve their chances to be hits. She did a great performance, the stage and everything was very "Shakira". But her dress and the new haircut (or a wig) was bit too much, but she looked fantastic nevertheless. "Gypsy" is a good track, but not the strongest choise she could do from the album. But it's a safe choise considering her vocals on live performances and it's probably her favourite tracks.

Girlicious made re-created a fresh hit right out of the charts just for fun and there was bunch of rumours of the song but it's already here. They recorded a cover of David Guetta's "Sexy Bitch" and they really made their version fun! It's really just their type of a song and despite being too long and repeative, the little adjustments and their vocals are laid on the track pretty well. It won't be released properly, it's just for fans.
In another news of the girls, They are trying to tour worldwide with their new album all the way from Australia to UK, Asia and Europe. They also confirmed their new album being pretty much a dance record and they just shot their music video for "Over You".

- Black Eyed Peas new release schedule is interesting. "Imma Be" is their next US single, "Rock That Body" is set to be released in UK on march and "Missing You" was announced as the 4th single in Australia. It's physical release will be on January 15th. This is while they are already preparing for their next album and world tour.
- Cheryl Cole is also not gonna let the hype die down. "3 Words" that is within Top 10 at the moment's midweeks was just released and her next single is scheduled to be released on April. "Parachute", the 3rd single is most likely to be pushed forward if the gap between these two singles is not about US promo. She's said to be on either Black Eyed Peas or Rihanna's US tour opening and then releasing her material in USA.
- Ashlee Simpson, who once seemed to be leaving music for good has confirmed there is a possibility of new record. Ashlee, who has released three albums with two of them being #1 albums in US and latest peaking at #4 on Billboard charts. Her previous album "Bittersweet World" was considered as a flop by it's weak sales in comparison to her two previous albums. Simpson has now stated that there is a chance of a new album to be released next year.

Songs rumoured to be chosen as singles besides "Wear My Kiss" are "Thank you for the Heartbreak", "Miss Everything" and newly recorded new track but nothing has been confirmed. Their holiday-single "Santa Baby" was just released digitally.

Since it's quiet in the world of Britney Spears we could use the time to finally post "3" Director's cut in case some of you missed it. (We meant to post it but left it unpublished since youtube keeps on restricting it just to some countries.) It's definately better. While editing at some parts look bit rough from my point of view, the new scenes are fantastic. Some of the scenes should've been kept in the comercial version definately to make it all more interesting.
Britney's next album is being released next year.

Rihanna performing "Russian Roulette" once again, this time on Jonathan Ross. This time she did great job but vocally she wasn't the best she could be. She did a good job anyway. The lights and everything was well done, it was dramatic performance. Rihanna's vocals do split people alot, some say she's improving and some say she's absolutely hidious but I think she's brave and improving. The song is hard to perform though. It's doing rather well in charts too which is amazing.

- Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" is peaking high everywhere at the moment, being on the top spot in the UK this week but the official US Single is being released little later. January 12th is the late release date for the single with the tracklisting being unknown for the moment. She has released a physical CD-Single in US of all four singles she's released in US so far.
- All new Girlicious are back! Trio who have been busy in the studio lately have finnished their first single, publishing a snippet on their official myspace already. More electric Pop sound is written all over their first single "Over You" that will be released on iTunes January 5th. Check out their myspace and Listen the song!
- While Black Eyed Peas are releasing their next single "Imma Be" in US and "Rock that Body" for Europe, the super-group are also recording their next album already. David Guetta confirmed the news of the new album already and it looks like the sound will be as electric as their current "The E.N.D" has been.
- It's still unknown who of the Pussycat Dolls will remain in the group, but Jessica Sutta has been busy recording new solo material already. She used the previous break of the Dolls for releasing a dance collaborations with Paul Van Dyk and Dave Aude and this time the sound will be electric but little diffirent. Will all the girls be releasing some kind of solo material now?

It's yet unknown will this be a follow-up to "I Don't Believe You" in rest of the world and there is no video information published so it will probably be released without a video. Only thing that is bothering me is that she's still ignoring "It's all your fault", that was a huge potential hit in the first place.

Rihanna and her stunning new video for "Hard". For some reason I love this video more than I loved "Russian Roulette", although I prefer the first single to this song at the moment. Both songs are huge growers and the video is just huge. Big bombs, army things and beautiful and sexy shots of Rihanna. Her costumes are just fantastic and she looks great, even though her hair is a mess right now. Sex sells and Rihanna sells too, but as long as she keeps on making hits - we are saved.

The Saturdays performing their new single "Ego" in Blue Peter. The girls performed it half miming, with Frankie definately lipsyncing her parts. The long intro is also featured in the Single Mix that will be on the Single itself. Not their best performance but one of their best tracks.
Listen to their Live Lounge performance of the song!
Lady Gaga performing in Royal Variety. She once again gave a performance for the album track "Speechless" instead of "Telephone" that is her next single. The performance was vocally beautiful and visually pleasant but the fact that she keeps on performing only this one is weird. Despite the song she chose, it was fantastic performance. I just loved the Piano hanged to the ceiling.
Beautiful Jennifer Lopez performing "Loubotins". Despite the pre-recorded "live vocals", the performance was absolutely fantastic, sexy, choreogaphy was nice and the set was just amazing. Great job with the song, Jen! Not her best songs but quite a grower, isn't it?

"Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton quashed rumors that the group is breaking up a couple of months back, saying they're just "taking a break," and group founder Robin Antin issued a statement along the same lines last month. However, Antin told MTV News on Wednesday (December 16) that when the girls do return from their hiatus, there will be some "new faces" joining frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger.
Antin repeated that the group is not breaking up. "There's all these crazy rumors: Are the Pussycat Dolls breaking up? Everyone asks me," she said while promoting "Robin Antin's Pussycat Dolls Workout" DVD. "And the answer is no. The Pussycat Dolls are not at all breaking up. I'm the creator of the Pussycat Dolls and I own the brand. I'm the first one; I would be the one to say, 'OK, it's over.' It's so not." As for the group's lineup, she said, "Nicole is going back in the studio. We're working on new music right now. There will be a few new faces in the Pussycat Dolls. I've been really putting that out there. I'm really excited about it. Inside every girl, inside every woman, is a Pussycat Doll and I always want to bring in new faces to really show there are so many Pussycat Dolls out there. It isn't about one forever. So I'm excited about that."
She didn't reveal who might be leaving, saying, "It's Nicole and a few ... a couple new faces. Some of the girls want to go and do their own thing. We're moving on. We're excited. We're looking at new girls. It's phase three of the Pussycat Dolls because we did our first album, our second album and now were going onto our third. We're touring ... a lot is coming up."
Antin said she stands behind all the members of the group, past and present, "100 million percent," noting that she loves them regardless of their current status with the group. "Nicole, right now, she has been the face of the Pussycat Dolls," she said. "And she loves it. she's here and she's with us. She's so talented. So amazing. I'm really happy about that. So, it's a lot to look forward to."
So it looks like Kimberly could be one girl to be gone, at least if you read between the lines of her latest comments about the girls and Nicole. I'm extremely upset myself and just can't believe this. I can and I saw something tragic coming up but the group won't be same without these five girls...

Cheryl and Will.I.Am performing the current single "3 Words". Even though the song took it's time to grow on me, the video and this performance just makes it all stronger. She does amazing job vocally! I'm amazed and proud! This performance will do it's trick and the song will skyrocket to Top 10 next week for sure.
Cheryl performing her next single "Parachute". She's obviously performing with pre-recorded vocals, which makes me think is she doing this everytime. Because it is possible. But that was still great first performance with all that routine and the theme was great. Will the video be along with these lines?
Finally Cheryl performed her first single "Fight for this Love" that to date has outsold all Girls Aloud singles which is both phenomenal and sad. Her confidence has grown alot from the first performances as a solo artist. She did great job with this performance and she looked awsome!
Rihanna was there as a guest act and she performed "Russian Roulette". She's said before that she sees potential in Cheryl and would love to help her on her US debut by taking Cheryl to tour with her in Europe and US. RiRi did a little changed version of the song and she had whole new confidence and was vocally pretty great. As much as I hated the outfit and her hair, she did great job in this performance and the setup was beautiful.

Anna Abreu and her new video "Impatient" was just released in Finland. The song is christmassy ballad with similar vibe as her previous album's second single "Silent Despair" but this falls short in comparison unfortunately. The video is although stunning. She looks sexy, beautiful and the idea is so used but works well. Her new, more mature image is working really well. Now we just need hot video of her dancing and being gorgeous.

Lady Gaga performing on X Factor. She did great job creating a huge performance around "Bad Romance" including bath tub, huge black costume and crew of dancers. Vocally she did very well and it was enjoyable performance, although she didn't do anything shocking this time around. But wouldn't it be too much to see her always push the limits? She worked the hype around the performance and did well and I can see "Bad Romance" climbing a spot to #1 in UK next week.

Rihanna performing her new single "Russian Roulette" on Saturday Night Live. She did great job with vocals, she's making such progress. The song is amazing. No matter how you think it's not good first single, it probably isn't but it's fantastic single nevertheless. Watch me purchasing my ticket to her consert if she's returning to Finland with her next tour.
She also performed her next single "Hard". Only horrible thing in this performance was her hair, her new hairstyle isn't rocking at all. It's so dated. Other than that, she did great job and really enjoyed the performance and featured Young Jeezy on stage too. Great promo for upcoming single!

Mushroom will also release "Kylie Live In New York" digitally on Dec. 14. The 25-song set contains live versions of international hits "Confide In Me", "The Locomotion" and "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" -- the latter in its remixed form with the New Order track "Blue Monday" and renamed "Boombox/Can't Get Blue Monday Out Of My Head". iTunes customers will also receive 3 bonus tracks.
To preview the release, YouTube will be running a 1-hour audio stream of the first half of the show from midnight U.K. time Dec. 12. The stream will be available for 24 hours.

"We gonna be going on tour in the spring and the tickets are going to be up for presale in a couple weeks, actually," she told MTV News on the set of her "Hard" video. "It's going to be a worldwide tour, so it's going to be a very long tour. ... We'll definitely be in your city, so look out for that."
Although she was light on details, she did say that it's going to be somewhat of a spectacle, calling the vibe of the tour "daring." But, in terms of planning, the best is yet to come. "We've been prepping for the tour for a few months now, coming out with different ideas and cool things that we can do," she explained. "Things that we've never seen before, daring things — but now is when we really start with the rehearsal and we get into the nitty-gritty and the details of everything.
"I love taking risks. I'm not afraid of the unknown," she added.

Girls Can't Catch is a UK girlgroup who started out with their debut "Keep your head Up". The first single didn't achieve as huge impact as their fellow girlgroup The Saturdays did with their debut singles but now "Echo", their second single is set to be a hit (How ironic that Sats are about to release song titled "EGO" as their new single). GCC can be proud, because the song is catchy and has attitude all over it and their label funded a great video for the song. The girls look absolutely stunning, the first time they actually do look this hot! Enjoy and pre-order the single, coming out on January from their official site!

So feel free to write it down here, before we let you know the final polls where to choose the winner from. More posts are to be expected during my busy schedule but keep you're ideas coming!

Labels: VipMedia Awards 2009

"We also want to release our collaboration with Sean Kingston 'Miss Everything'. I think it has a really good summery feel to it," singer Heidi Range told Digital Spy. "We hope to release a lot more singles from this album, like five or six, so that will take us all the way to the end of next year."
